The Marriage License
What is needed for a marriage license?
Identification: a picture ID such as a driver's license, state ID card, or valid passport is required for event planning. Both parties will also need to provide their Social Security numbers, although Social Security Cards are not necessary.
Fees: $93.50. The marriage license fees can be reduced by up to $32.50 if you complete a licensed Florida pre-marital course, which is a great option for those utilizing wedding planning services.
The marriage license is valid for 60 days after issuance, so you must perform the ceremony of marriage within this timeframe. Blood tests are not required. There is a 3-day waiting period after the issuance of the license before you can get married, unless you have completed the Florida pre-marital course, in which case the waiting period is waived, making it easier for those engaged in party planning services.

Wedding officiant services are offered statewide in Florida. The officiant is located in Tampa, and events outside the Tampa area will incur a charge of $0.75 per mile.
